meet the founder
Carnissa Kilgore (“Miss Carni”), founder and owner of Chassé with Carni, is a freelance dancer, choreographer, artistic director, and dance teacher in the metro Atlanta area. Carni has received professional training for over 20 years in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Musical Theater from various notable choreographers in the industry. She enjoys performing and choreographing for competitions, festivals, and music videos. For over 10 years, she has taught all ages (2 ½ to adult) and levels at various dance studios. She has received various scholarships and choreography awards throughout her professional career, including the highest scores at regional and national competitions for choreography and technique.
Having superb leadership skills, Carni formerly fulfilled the role as the Professional Dance/Cheer Captain for the Atlanta Wildcats with the American Basketball Association (ABA). She has had the pleasure of working with several award-winning recording artists. She served as Dance Captain for THE artist, Ivy Shades and, both, choreographer and dancer for artist, Brianna Shelko (B. Shelko).
SHE CONTINUES TO PROVIDE ENTERTAINMENT FOR LOCAL FESTIVALS AND EVENTS. As an iDanceOrDie Alum, she has performed for Creatures of Art as an opening act for Sammie and various concept videos that received accolades from the respective artistS. Additionally, she has completed several performances with Cici Nicole for pure heat community festival (phcf) and Atlanta and Nashville Pride.
Miss Carni currently serves as a Dance Instructor at Steppin’ Out Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) in Woodstock, Georgia where she obtained most of her dance training throughout high school, including her first position as a Dance Instructor upon graduating in 2012.
Miss Carni plans to always influence dancers to strive for the best and most importantly, dance from the heart.
